Sokomine reports a bug:

benches - in this case ts_furniture:*_planks_bench - ought to check if the player can actually be placed on top of the bench when getting up again. else the player may be stuck in a ceiling that does opticly fit to the scenery but is too low for someone standing on a bench

upstream issue https://github.com/minetest-mods/ts_furniture/issues/14. doesn't seem we've got a corresponding issue already. in any event, upstream looks abandoned.
