I really like this idea.
It appears that( at least with the version of airutils i'm using ) xdecor has issus with airutils:wind
The whole of xdecor was tested and found not suitable. We only used the enchanting table and the anvil, both of which were moved out of xdecor and put into their own mods.
What exactly from the xdecor mod would you like to have in YL?
Just saying it: There's a more or less good maintained fork by Wuzzy https://codeberg.org/Wuzzy/xdecor-libre
but it has the same problem, several nodes don't fit into the server theme. we would need all the non-fitting items taken out, or a medieval version of that mod.
i haven't checked this out, but the original xdecor is really showing its age and has major issues. there are certainly pieces of it that i think we should adopt though:
tatami mats (see #1054), cauldron, doors, cabinets, building nodes, flowerpots, some other bits. we do not want the speaker, the enchanting table (we already have it), the ender chest, the item frame, the mailbox, the lever, the painting, the pressure plates, the radio, the tv, the trampoline, or the work bench.
if the crashy bugs w/ the chess have been fixed, that'd be cool as well.
Xdecor is one of the few things I do miss from Bananaland.
But I agree that some of the pieces of decoration it offers are off-topic with the server.
It would be nice if we could have at least some of the doors, they were beautiful and added some variety, and would fit well in a medieval fantasy world.
Our doors are indeed very lacking. We have those nice arced ones - and that's mostly about it. Perhaps we can gather some textures from other mods and create a yl_doors?
Unfortunately xdecor is a jumble of things and features we'd need to pick apart. Also I asked annah, which features exactly she missed, this is the answer:
The things from xdecor that I want on YL are listed below:
Lantern
Wooden lightbox
Iron lightbox
Candle
Artifical hive
Barrel
Rope
Ivy
Cobweb
Wooden cabinet
Half wooden cabinet
Multi-Shelf
Wood framed glass
Chair
Table
Tatami
Bamboo frame
Wood frame
Painting
Potted flowers (if they don't clash with the flowerpots we already have)
Cactus brick
Moon brick
Runestone
Coal stone tile
red cushion
red curtains
Cauldron +bowls & soup (if possible)

Greetings, Alias
i created a version of xdecor for use on YL according to annah and i want. of the stuff annah requested, i left out the artificial hive, i don't think we need a fourth kind of bee.
https://gitea.your-land.de/flux/yl_xdecor
tbh, I think that besides the nodes and items that don't fit here in yl , it's a good mod.
The beehive is not the only item listed by Annah that we've already got in YL.
We've also got several variants of candles, two types of barrels, many kinds of ropes, several ivy-looking plants, and two types of cobwebs. I'd advise against the extra re-duplication that adding more of those would bring.
With the rest of the items listed I agree except the cactus brick, which I find horrendous. The cabinets and half cabinets would particularly fit into YL in a wonderful manner.
They are not mentioned in the list but I'd add at least some of the doors.
And I hope I'm not confusing Xdecor with Homedecor but there's one kind of low, 2x1 table that allows a lot of play - you'd make my day if you bring those to YL.
We'll test it, but Chache is not wrong: I'd rather avoid any duplications or "special" furniture" blocks.
I'll comment my findings here.
these ones look different though

i already left these out, sorry i forgot to mention it.

good catch, we've already got that from moreblocks (and the moreblocks one looks a bit better).
those are from homedecor (which has much less in it appropriate for your-land). players on blocky complained endlessly that things would "float" if you tried to place them on top of the table.
culled the bowl, which is a dupe of farming, even though it's not a node.
the doors made it in
This mod adds 80 node definitions in its current form and it's on the testserver for now
are you using https://gitea.your-land.de/flux/yl_xdecor ? by my count it only adds 48 nodes.
EDIT: oh wait there may be some additions due to embeded panes and possibly something else?
EDIT2: oh wait the doors are also not in the xdecor nodename namespace, and there's 4 variants of each for a reason i don't quite understand.
EDIT3: i guess it matters whether a door is considered open or closed independent from its rotation and reflection, for the purposes of pressure-plate mechanics. but that could be handled w/ metadata, right?
Before adding another couple of blocks we might be unable to remove again, I'd like to make up my mind how we generally want to proceed. Also, this mod duplicates stuff we already have, only in a slightly different texture, like doors and chairs and tables. I'm against adding blocks that can only be used for one single purpose.
i could set it up so that each block would have to be explicitly enabled, after a player requested it for a build. but i'm not in favor of that.
i'm in favor of adding blocks that allow for more subtle decoration. the main use of the "duplicate" cupboards and doors isn't as storage, or to prevent people from walking through archways, it's to give builders more options for how their build looks.
