honestly, i have no more or less trouble with the mazes this year than any other year. but i enjoy doing them.
some mazes are harder than others but even if i end up abandoning it i still enjoy at least trying
This problem seems universally to stem from the invis mazes, and yeah they can really, REALLY suck, especially since your final reward is kinda underwhelmed. "At least I can finally talk to this stupid bunny! Now for my reward, I would like some Dragonscale Battle Armour! Yes! Mwahahahaha! Or Garlands... just as cool as my idea..."
I think the problem is that because some of the mazes are vastly more difficult, it's just not worth the time and effort to do it anymore. I think reviewing the invis maze beforehand and scrapping harder layouts or keeping those in but drastically increasing the rewards would be how its done. I don't know what happened but I personally found the 2024 mazes far less fun than the 2023 mazes. Not sure why but that's just how I feel.
it sounds like we shouldn't use the backtracking algorithm on the invisible maze. missing a junction might just be too punishing.
i thought backtracking would make the invisible maze easier because there's fewer junctions you might miss, but seems i was wrong.
