There's a whole lot in that commit, is it only about the swapping?

no, it's mostly about updating the mod structure. too many changes. but we've thrown out most of those changes and instead are (mostly) using the minetest_mods upstream.

the title probably should say that this is a testserver bug before anyone else gets confused

Let's not rush this, we can happily stay on the old branch as long as we like. Let's postpone this to the next update, upstream the "switch" feature and then test again.
