Yes, but if it will be a half way realistic survival server, not all resources can be recycled without loss.
putting all the things that are theme-breaking aside (im looking right at you mesecons...) i don't think this will get very much approval
we've discussed this before, but alias never outright vetoed it, i don't think. see #1685, which is about allowing metal tools to be melted to regain some fraction of their materials. also relevant is the idea of adding nuggets of materials #494.
i vote no for generalized "recycling", "uncrafting", "decrafting", etc., at least if it gives you everything that was put into item. i might support a mechanism that'd return only some of the required crafting materials, but that gets messy when dealing with items that have multiple different recipes. or perhaps instead, a way to turn items into a generalized "scrap" material which could be recycled into useful stuff. there's a bunch of mods for these various ideas on the cdb, but i haven't played with any of them.
