Might work in combination with having an NPC work in a post office: He'd have to know where each mailbox is in order to deliver.
Areas could help in both cases. When a player drops something into a mailbox and the mail is sent, it wouldn't be that expensive to search for the area the mailbox is in - and attach that as label to the mailbox.
I've often wondered which one of my mailboxes received mail as well. Coordinates are not intuitive.
It'd also be great to have a list of who mailed what inside the mailbox (but not stored in it).
I really am not a fan of NPCs everywhere... the mailbox tag could just borrow from the death 'near' tag tho. That should be enough of a hint which one it is.
But...but...the NPC want jobs! They love standing around and making the world more alive :-)
But I am. All unwanted NPCs find asylum in Rubodyke.
i just copy the coordinates into a compass
if i ever get around to implementing anything, i'd rather implement #5569 so you don't have to even wonder which mailbox the stuff is in.
