last-login 2023-10-06. honestly, even unfinished, it looks way better than most of the other builds in that neighborhood.
Still, the builder ignored a bazillion warnings and if we let him continue, others might want to as well.
It's a small build. It could...travel...to a diffrent location. No point in doing that with cobble huts where rebuilding them would be faster than typing the WorldEdit command (only minimally exaggerated here) - but if something is halfway worth looking at it ought to be kept. Respecting (acceptable) builds has higher priority to me than the distance rules.
Last login: October 6, 2023. @Sokomine, take a look at the area. Are you really doing the owner a favor if it continues to languish there? If he really ever comes back, he has the chance to look for a nice area and build a new one.
The distancing rule is important for all those who have already invested much more time in their lives than those who somehow happen to get close to it and are just starting anew. However, it really needs to be better communicated. If the system detects that someone is building a block over water, why shouldn't the system also detect when someone is placing a block near an area:
you're building too close to another player's area.
The hint doesn't have to appear all the time, but it does have to appear in such a way that it can be perceived by the player.Discussion in your-land/bugtracker#4105
