as discussed in #3684 and elsewhere, recent x_bows updates have removed some content and added other features which are incredibly buggy. we also have quite a bit of custom code in our x_bows repo. as i'm currently working on the projectiles API (#102), i propose that i create a new mod "y_bows" built on top of the projectiles API, which will use all of our current x_bows assets and aliases things properly.

this is https://github.com/fluxionary/minetest-y_bows. it's basically done. the only feature i know that's missing vs. our current x_bows is that the particle color doesn't change for "crit" arrows or fire arrows, and i'm not super motivated to tack that on.
