Blue Seahorses are fishable. If you use magellan, you have to be in ocean (at least one block deep, but in frost ocean probably deeper, to get it shown as frost_ocean.
blue seahorses are fishable yes, but that's not the issue here.
the problem is frost_ocean only generates BELOW the surface of the water, whereas other biomes do not have this handicap.
i thought i'd download amidst to try to check out the distribution of biomes at various elevations.
"jumble", you say...
upstream issue: https://codeberg.org/tenplus1/ethereal/issues/2
this area that WAS frost_ocean is now taiga_ocean...time is running out, if this was due to the update frost_ocean might become nonexistent
tested another site near the xmas market in maravillosa, again no frost_ocean, only frost and taiga_ocean
every frost_ocean biome at Melbourne is now taiga_ocean
i suspect 1.1.122 made frost_ocean nonexistent, bringing getting blue seahorses to be impossible now.
so, either frost_ocean will have to be brought back, if it's even possible now. Or blue seahorses will have to be changed from frost_ocean to taiga_ocean
Upstream is said to be fixed, we'll try that on the testserver
QA
Unfortunately it is not fixed. The biome frost_ocean now starts at -0, which is 2 blocks below the surface. First air block above ocean is at y=2.
The "fix"
109a749bb3
moved the biome one LOWER instead of higher.
The bobber's position is around y=1.5
https://codeberg.org/tenplus1/ethereal/issues/7
QA
Upstream was fixed again, but now instead of the planned coniferous ocean we have taiga ocean below frost biomes.
QA
Upstream was fixed again, but now instead of fishing the blue seahorse from a coniferous ocean we fish them directly from the glacier biome. That miraculously works
I could even fish other stuff that is biome bound. I didn't look at each and everyone of those, but in general it works.
Now we need the experts. Lupeeeeeeercus?!
validated that this is live. took about 30 minutes :\
In such cases we should better send out the local experts: Lupercus :D
hm maybe that would have been a better use of my time, but Lupercus's time is also valuable :)
Except that I bet Lupercus would enjoy the hike ;)
