ok so the issue is not that all saws give too much.
it seems it was only one saw outputting too much, and it's only the stairs.
I went to the saw in question. It looks perfectly normal very unsuspecting, but then the owner DezS4125 demonstrated, and it gave him way more stairs than it was supposed to. He said he cut 4 or 5, but when he dropped it all, and handed it to me, there were 22 stairs. the amount he should have gotten from all the nodes he put in the saw to be cut.
he pointed out that this is an item dupe glitch.
