I think that idea is good.
We should keep in mind, that it should be possible to place areas closer to each other on purpose (e.g. if someone asks you or you asked someone to be their neighbor)
Yes, and there's the idea that areas can define that they accept closer neighbours.
Daydream is right that it's very confusing when a lot of warnings scroll past - or even a single one - and the player has no idea where it is. My markers block and land title register may help a bit; perhaps they need a better interface specificly for the needs of YL and need to be available as a chat command somehow.
