what i want is for voice mobs to no longer use nametags. instead they should have custom textures that indicate that they're not naturally spawning mobs. the nametags just flood the screen and make playing impossible.
EDIT: made an separate issue for this, #5201
This should be an extra issue. Maybe every player could hide or show the name tags if there was only a separate key for this and for the mobs of Voice only?
Apart from that, I support the desire of tour.
A global arrow will not help much if one needs to walk the opposite direction first, to get on the airship or sailship. A long range arrow that at least can be seen from the next harbour ... that is already possible: Carry a waypoint compass and copy in the coordinates announced by whoever detected the Voice attack.
We probably need to advertise compasses more to new players.
The Scout nametags are quite iconical. I don't think we can easly remove them without removing the flair.
Right now Voice troops are usually gone once the player has a) noticed the announce (1-10 minutes) and b) moved from spawn to the sailship or airship (map loads extremly slowly on the way to the sailship). So if a player doesn't know where the attack is - there's no need to bother because by the time the player would arrive there's nothing there anymore anyway.
This is only true if there is a single focus. Recently, however, entire series have become the rule. It's definitely worth coming.
That's good to know. So Voice puts more effort into atacks. Wonder what he has in mind.
Some kind of uniform? So all voice troops would be dressed with same style?
Nametags actually make it easier to spot battle grounds when approaching to it. If those are removed, use a different mechanic to make it easier to locate the battle? Like some voice mobs emitting a pillar of smoke, or collectively creating a magic cloud above the army, that will diminish as mobs are gradually being defeated?
