Deleting a branch is permanent. Although the deleted branch may continue to exist for a short time before it actually gets removed, it CANNOT be undone in most cases. Continue?

Imo, the bucket being consumed is creatively limiting, especially since the lava crust can't be dug again
see #793 (comment) for why the bucket is consumed, and #1403 for the first time someone complained about this.
some nodes being rare or hard to get is a feature.
i do still wish that the crystal pickaxe was "silk touch" the same way the crystal shovel is, but i think alias vetoed that the last time it was brought up. it would allow getting ore nodes easier, and would also need to prevent certain nodes from being dug like e.g. portalstones.
