The bucket eating is actually a conscious choice to represent how hot the lava crust is and how expensive. I was worried that players would interpret this as a bug though and file bugreports. So we need to find a way to document this and live with duplicates of this report popping up from time to time. Alias, will you write Apo?

That's on purpose, the bucket contains the lava until its colled off and then needs to be smashed to get out the lava crust.
That's why the bucket is lost while making lava crust.
