Deleting a branch is permanent. Although the deleted branch may continue to exist for a short time before it actually gets removed, it CANNOT be undone in most cases. Continue?
Since using axe to set length of rope is disabled, and it is not allowed to place one ropebox referenced off another, nor any block built off a placed ropebox, use "place" action on ropebox to set its length via formspec and optionally make this require having
ropes:*rope_block
in-hand. Length can be set 0<= n <= ropebox max for that type of ropebox.We're using ropeboxes for toilet paper dispenser decoration, would be useful to set length=0. Also when you want to place one ropebox below another, but the one above is already extended to some block below that you'd like to replace with another ropebox and continue the ropeway, climb up the rope and set the length to be what you need it to be.

i agree the status quo is not ideal, i don't like the state i've left things in.
