There should be a daily limit of 20k. Anything above that is either a bug or unhealthy for the player.

Hmm. One death for players that are not even in the highscore anymore costs 10k XP already. I think a daily limit of 20k would be too low.

The exact number needs to be configurable, maybe even a moving average.

This is a notifier when someone gains a lot of xp in a very short amount of time. Of course this gain could be legit in every way, but it may also indicate some newfound/unknown xp exploit.
