I'm not sure whether this is a bug, this is what polar bears do. Camels occasionally spawn in caves when there's sand, too.
Checked with Alias, this is actually unwanted behavior. To petz it goes.
could be fixed by adding these lines to
user.conf
:Why would ANY of the petz spawn in caves? Except maybe bats?
Let's add this to every petz that isn't supposed to spawn in the deep.
Another thing: If I have desert sand layed out in the nether, do camels and hamsters spawn there, too? If so, is there a max_height value? If so, let's add max_height y= 1000.
Because the nodes they spawn on are also generated in caves and like flux pointed out they dont have a height restriction for spawn
Not tested but probably yes if no max height is set
Fixed in
df02aad29b
looks good except deleting L181 that probably changes so far normal behaviour.
you also set sane values for ant queen and beaver, both have hardcoded heights for placing anthill/dam
regular ants can't attack; that value did nothing, and i was trying to do a little cleanup of the mess that is that file
i did? i gave them the same params as most other animals. i know anthills only form in low elevations, i don't think i've ever seen a beaver dam.
Yep, anthills have a pretty small height range + other factors so the minimum height you set makes sure that some queens still spawn around that height and start a hill.
If I remember right dams got deactivated
