Deleting a branch is permanent. Although the deleted branch may continue to exist for a short time before it actually gets removed, it CANNOT be undone in most cases. Continue?

the problem is engine sided, we currently do not have the means to change that.
this isn't even a well formed problem - how is the game supposed to know which slot you want to put an item into? some items are burnable, but can also be smelted into things, e.g. group:tree -> charcoal.
it is certainly possible to check if an item is flamable but not cookable when it is put into the main slot, and automatically move it to the fuel slot. but i'm not really sure if doing that wouldn't cause more confusion than it'd solve.
