flux reports a bug:

lots of crop seeds don't make sense, e.g. cucina vegana "soy seeds" vs. "soy pods", and cv & farming rice "seeds" vs. "cooking ingredients". more kinds of crops/seeds should be compatible w/ the cottages thresher and quern

Crops in minetest don't make sense anyways - if you harvest wheat, you get wheat seeds and wheat. Then you grind the wheat to flour. In reality, you grind the wheat seed to flour

But what about the thresher and quern? Opening it up to more grains sounds reasonable! In the test environment you can already put more than just wheat seeds into the cottages mill - but the formspec isn't changed and still just demands wheat.
The thresing floor doesn't accept anything but wheat yet.
This is a work in progress then.

i think a lot of crop/seed distinctions are needless clutter - simplifying things where it makes sense is preferable than shrugging it off with "minetest farming is often illogical".
