Deleting a branch is permanent. Although the deleted branch may continue to exist for a short time before it actually gets removed, it CANNOT be undone in most cases. Continue?
... but costs hunger points. So even one (some) XP for one hunger point should be fair enough, especially when compared to the completely overvalued digging.
Players would abuse choppy and decimate forests for XP so I can understand removing XP from choppy but to balance that, we shouldn't starve to death while using it either - fair is fair and this was not balanced properly when it was done.
Some time after choppy came, it had suddenly brought enormous XP by bug. Of course, this had to be stopped at short notice at the time. But the fact that there should be no XP at all is too violent. I think that if you link the XP directly to the hunger points, then you only get a few XP for 5 minutes of choppy, while you have to constantly replenish your hunger points, i.e. even interrupt the choppy, which is not so very worthwhile for XP grinding after all.
Choppy is considered an afk mechanic, those cannot yield xp
