If you built and activated it, then you can't get the rewards from your own Wandertag. You could get the rewards from the Wandertag destinations I activated.
We already considered some reward for the builder, but that would then cause a spam of wandertags only for the rewards.
If you know a way to reward the Wandertag builder, without making it into a commodity, fire away
Redshirt could help.
Why not leave the wandertag reward the same it is? Whoever goes there gets the reward that day. No more, no less. It's more symbolic and not that much. We don't need extra rewards for the player who built it - others comming and enjoying the location is the real reward. But to exclude the player who built it, that feels cheap to me.
There have been players in chat who wanted a reward for their target beeing selected. That felt wrong, and perhaps those...requests...are the reason for this rule. Still, I'm pretty sure they expected more than the standard reward everyone gets.
Of course there is some limited reason to fear that players will build targets at their not so excellent bases, wait for them to get activated and claim the reward without effort while not caring at all about the real reason the Wandertag targets are there. That'd be pretty soon pretty destructive. And, again, would violate the server rule.
The Wandertag is such a nice idea. Why make it bad deliberately?
Perhaps this is another instance of there really beeing no technical way to decide if a target is good or not. Votes can help to a degree but are no universal cure.
I've thought about adding an option to complain to Amanda about a specific Wandertag target. NPC can send mail now. If there is noticable complaint, staff can take a look at the target and deactivate it for future use and talk to the creator. If such complains show up more often regarding a particular player, then staff ought to be able to exclude that players' targets alltogether from the target list. The player still ought to be able to get rewards from other targets in order to hopefully learn how to find better ones.
