Delete Branch "%!s()"
Deleting a branch is permanent. Although the deleted branch may continue to exist for a short time before it actually gets removed, it CANNOT be undone in most cases. Continue?
Figure out a way to get City Founding back on track because players are building them whether we're recognizing them or not, and in some cases, they are doing a pretty good job too - deserves our attention asap.
Even if they try, and even if we try: With that many new cities beeing founded, it becomes close to impossible to keep track of all of them and keep the 1.5k rule.
We also need villages. A city is a big project. Something smaller is usually a much better start.
@Sokomine I can only marvel at these arguments. The surface of the server allows for well over 1000 cities at this distance. This is the simplest mathematics. But there won't be that many. And why shouldn't you be able to cope with a few more cities on the server? This is purely a question of (self) organization.
And villages are a completely different issue #2997 and they will be official as a part of the city update according to @AliasAlreadyTaken
Right now mostly just those players building the cities are aware of them. It's hard to keep a distance of 1.5k to something you don't know exists.
I agree with you that there is no really functioning list of cities. There are fan projects, such as the books of Chache or the poster of daydream. This can never be up-to-date and new players don't even find it.
There is only one real criterion for cities: the city areas set up by @AliasAlreadyTaken. And as a layman, I imagine it to be technically quite simple: /list_cities_all (or something like that) shows all city areas of the server and that with the indication of the distance from the player.
This. Maybe the staff or someone else could encourage people to make villages instead of cities, or count those new cities as the big villages/branches of the nearest city or bridging villages between cities.
Those might have less abilities as for a city, but still be considered as a place where you can respawn, have a plot, populate with NPC's etc.
