LilyBelle reports a bug:

i wrote a book. i saved it. now i want to correct my mistakes in my book but i can't correct it, it's locked like it's not mine.

LadyPixels she doesn't have the switch as soon as she save her writtings. me i have the reverse thing. if i save my book, i don't have the "read" tab on mine

I changed_author to me and then changed it back and it's working now. So the player problem on that one book is fixed but the reason it happened still needs looking into.

It may well be that it's not expected behavior to read/write tab in different positions holding vs laying on the table.

I believe there may be an issue with who owns the book vs who writes in it. This can be pinned down with some logical experiments.

I suspect books left without writing below the title by someone other than who originally owned the book may end up with the 'book with text' issue.

lily owned and placed the books she wrote in, and i placed and wrote some others.
In the one she wrote in, she wasn't able to edit them after pushing the "save" button. the book would open on read only
then now we have another issue. at first we've placed the blank books on the tables at our school, then we wrote the content without taking back the book in our hands. it created 2 issues:

Despite we wrote a title, they keep on appearing under "book with text", we had to take them back in hands, open them and save them again to make the book see the title we've placed originally.
when book is in hands, we have 2 tabs "write" and "read", when placed back or before on the table, no more tabs. just the edit version is available, even after saving the content.

lily and I have the same issue. we are both on separate computers. she is using minetest 5.10 and i'm on 5.8

I am quite sure this is a dupe of #4890. Accidetially tabbing into the owner field and changing the name there.
