Since directions say "south", I just started following the fancy gravel path leading south. Looks like it's not finished, but if you follow stone colums with lights on top, you will find Matilda.
I kinda like that I have to look for them myself or ask people... Just mindlessly following compass would feel like there's less of a "quest".
i agree with you whosit since it adds a bit of a challenge to these quests instead of giving a compass
Compasses cause players to hop over the city walls instead of using the paths and gates. If they are to come back later, for example to help against Voice, they still don't know the ways and gates.
Maybe some other NPC could sell you an expensive compass showing where to go exactly.
Honey would still provide enough directions, and the compass wouldn't be required. But if you're completely lost, you could part with some of your gold in exchange for a hint :p
(most players still just ask in chat and others gladly help them - not sure this is really needed)
I don't like the idea of compasses either...
Having a compass doesn't make it feel like a quest. The challenge isn't to craft something... The challenge is to find the NPC. You have to think about the meaning of Honey's words. You have to search in the city for a place that would fit the description.
With a compass, the "do you want to help me" would turn into "do you have the time to walk x nodes"
Yep some of the honey quests are meant to be a challenge to find. Some are meant to be a crafting challenge... it varies quite a bit. Even sometimes the NPC won't have a nametag... just different things like that. Players generally work together or figure it out.
I did the numbers and the overwhelming majority found the targets.
I'd like to keep the quest the way it is, without a compass.
