this is a request to not make them squeak unless you hit them hard enough to trigger a knockback?
part of me wants to just say "scorpions are toxic, and that includes their terrible sounds". a lot more obnoxious behavior has been proposed but so far not implemented (e.g. #325).
on the other hand, i wear headphones and am not fond of the sound.
and i've been known to complain about obnoxious sounds (#6003)

As soon stuff like crazy squeaking sounds even have the slightest chance of causing health issues, we need to remove or alter them.
it'd be easier to either remove the sound or quiet it, than to change the logic of when it triggers. that's controlled by mobs_redo internals, likely in some 1000+ line function that's impossible to override.
