Soko and I have set up a museum that explains what the Miocene are and stuff about the Miocene moves at the Miocene Camp. Perhaps it could be something that people would ask an NPC for, and then they are given a compass that leads to the miocene camp?
this is a great idea but separate from what i'm thinking. i want i quick way to explain what the miocene are to new players with a
/faq_say
command."the miocene are a kind of NPC that need our help because our arch-enemy, the Voice, enslaves them and makes them work against us and their own tribe. they will never directly attack us, and they need our protection from Voice's minions when they rebel."
Is it confirmed that Voice is enslaving Miocene though?
"Tribe Miocene is a kind of friendly NPCs that is fleeing from Voice. Miocene won't attack us, and also fight Voice, so we offered them our protection."
Well Voice did use to use obsidian flans to transport goods for him. Those could have been the Miocene
We definitely need a quest for Camp Miocene and a way for players to learn about its existence. Right now it's hard to find even if you're standing in front of the camp.
I'd like to have a small quest inside. We might hire a goblin (they're cheap!), let him maintain the museum, and occasionally quiz players on what they read on the signs. Azelf also wanted to show the other places - at least Dragonwatch Tower and the new Camp Miocene. The volcano definitely is worth visiting as well. I still need some ideas to form it all into a consistent quest.
Having such a quest start at spawn at one of the NPC would be best.

As DragonWrangler already wrote: There used to be the transports of supplies through the tunnel at banshee bridge (and later through the bait tunnel). Those transports were done by obsidian flans. They wore no name tags and attacked us. Them not wearing tags and the way Voice talked about them suggests that they were no direct troops of the Voice but worked for him. With the Miocene showing up and their tale it seems highly likely that Voice enslaved those previous flans and made them transport the goods for him. He might have threatened to kill their families if they didn't cooperate.
