This is fallout from tamagotchi mode being on...although idk who decided to put their dead animal into the box
lots of dead animals were actually zombies and acted like live animals, even allowing you to pick them up and put them down. the error message at least explains that it's not a bug that the animal disappeared when you tried to place it. see #3154.
