im ok with the geckos tbh, but you are right about the water snakes.
I caught 8 of them in under 2 minutes.
either the water_life spawning mechanism is somehow still enabled, or spawnit is ignoring protection for some rules
I vaguely remember once hearing that water_life spawns ignore protections, maybe that's what's happening? Or was that fixed a while ago?
it does ignore protection, but its spawn mechanism is supposed to be disabled
also i don't remember snakes spawning in wahi wera before, so this is probably a spawnit issue

Plenty. Apparently water_life spawn is not entirely disabled.

i happy to learn that it's a water_life/integration issue, i couldn't find anything relevant wrong in spawnit today.
there's still a handful of geckos, but no more snakes, i'm considering this closed.
