the intention of river water vs. normal (sea) water, is that river water shouldn't flow out of rivers and cover the landscape, where sea water would.

if anything, i want minetest to adopt minecraft's water flowing logic, where a source node can only create a single flowing node / set of flowing nodes. but that is a c++ level engine change, and controversial.

changing how the water flows? not really, if we want to use the existing flowing water
