If a player you're ignoring sends you a DM, you don't get the text in your chat but you do get the notification sound.
Also, when you send a DM to a player who is ignoring you, you don't get any kind of warning. It just says "DM to [playername]". Maybe it should give a warning along the lines of "The player [playername] is currently not accepting messages from you."
duplicate #2571
The first part (about DMs from ignored players still making a sound) was duplicate, but the second (about warning sending DMs to a player ignoring you) could still be discussed.
oh, i forgot to reply to that, sorry. it's very intentional that the sender has no idea that they are being ignored, otherwise they might quickly create an alt account to circumvent the ignore. that's alias's decision.
No.
It is done on purpose that the sender gets no information he is being ignored. Ignores are not meant to be a lighthearted decision taken against someone whose opinion one does not agree with or one had a temporary quarrel with.
It is meant as a last resort defense against repeated and hostile behaviour of a person one wants nothing to do with, where even an apology won't help and the ignored person has no chance to redeem themselves.
I caution everyone to occasionally check their ignore list and decide if an ignore is still in order.
