if you're on a ladder lava pickaxe would not emit light. This is especially severe if you're on top of ladder

lighrt emitting items work by temporarily converting air into "luminiscent air" around you. If you are on ladder and there is no air node near it, they do not work.

Once again, wrote a mail to the player explaining how light emitting works in the game.

Did someone (by any chance) tell Jammy that you earn XP by filing bug reports? Let's not do that maybe LOL!

i would consider this a bug, but not one that we plan to fix. imbuing nodes w/ the ability to emit light independent of the node ID would be lovely, but require an engine change.
