I thought it would be nice to have further properties for areas that declare what things can be done in there by people that are not added. E.g. one property could be "farmeable", so when an area has that property everyone can farm there but do nothing else. Other examples could be "choppable" for tree farms or "extuingishable" to make it possible to extinguish flames (could especially be useful for the arena where sometimes fire nodes can be in the air and therefore in the way of fighting).

The fire in the arena makes it possible to see so much better at night, I actually lure stuff to the center just to get the fire, so I'd miss that a lot.

To make land farmable, just adjust the y on the farm and just open above the surface over the farm, that way the land and dirt remain protected and all the farming can be done, this is covered perfectly in open now and is in use at public farm in haven as well as 2 or 3 public farms near the goblin drop off points.

mere Open does not cover it perfectly, as it allows not just farming, but also putting down protected chests, etc...

Haven farm uses extra code to restrict what can be placed there.

But it may be useful to have some semi-open protection that would allow some limited interaction (placing and removing torches, harvesting plants, ...), but not landscape changes or general builds

It certainly would be nice, and seems to be possible with what we have in YL. I'm just a bit reluctant to that as it has to be checked every time a block is placed or digged.

Isk, I think it's pretty fine without. It's not like you need to see what is there, just that there is something. But I think instead some light sources could be added to the arena. The flames at this point are just annoying like this because they keep me from attacking things.

I know about that, but I do not want to do this. It limits so much in creativity as it forces you to make rectangled farms and everything at the same height, which isn't always the most realistic and best solution.
