Strange request, but I guess people would want it.
Kinda pushes the node limit though...
Not necessarily. Hardware coloring does exist - and doesn't increase the node limit. I'm just not certain how well concrete fits into our world. Perhaps chalk, clay and sandstone could be painted (see my plasterworks mod).
Colored full blocks does not mean that they're available as colored nodes for the saw. That would really cause way more blocks to be defined. But full nodes are usually no problem.
But we already have som fine looking nodes, that can't be put in the saw so I won't use them for most building aspects.
I support this since I feel like we could use more coloured block variety. As for concrete fitting into the world, concrete has been used since ancient times, by Mayans, Greeks and other cultures even before the Romans famously used it to build structures like the Colosseum. So I don't see grounds to bar it by virtue of modernity.
we could either do
paramtype2 = "color"
, which would allow for 256 colors of full face blocks (i'd recommend using the unified_dyes palette and integration).as for the texture, i always liked the sandcrete textures from terumet
We've been very stingy with adding new nodes. Currently there are 19887 defined. Adding option 2 with 16 colors would cause ~100 new blocks introduced?
correct. and w/ my moreblocks fork, we could also leave out all the really weird variants by default and it'd only be something like 72. actually i'm not sure the "old" moreblocks can handle colorfacedir, this would probably have to wait for us to switch to my fork first.
