picking up a mob kitty before grown than placing it back sometimes changes its color.

i'm pretty sure mobs animals (except sheep which get different item strings) generally don't keep their colors when you pick them up and put them back down

i'm pretty sure mobs animals (except sheep which get different item strings) generally don't keep their colors when you pick them up and put them back down

i've verified that this is wrong, they do store their texture in metadata:

however, players report they seem to change colors sometimes. i have no theories.
