Chache reports a bug:

All panes from the Panes_embedded mod come in 3 variants: the regular, the unconnected and the embedded. For all panes except one, you can craft every variant just putting the previous variant in the crafting grid. You can always convert from one variant to another. But not for the xpanes_palace_window (neither top nor bottom). If you craft the unconnected variant, you can never go back to the regular one. It used to be like all the other panes' recipes.
