MineWorlds reports a bug:

NPC BUG:blocks/things that affect them (even with protection 2 and newly protected.) beacon's light (beacons:base_(any colour). dragon's fire (nether_mobs:dragon_fire) stuck inside a block (suffocating) fall damage (if it falls too deep it can take damage). fireplace damage (yl_fireplace:fireplace) (it can only get hurt from it if its active eg cooking something.)

Note: this is on a test server.
Code for protection level 2 from another branch was not integrated into the latest NPC code, so I think old NPCs can even show level 2 and but actually all be level 1.

I will try to fix this soon.

UPD: I'm also not sure if they are actually immortal... X)
