Until now you have to collect the plantlive/cavestüff:pebbles in the nature only to use them. Some may use them for crafting recipe as stones, some for decoration and some to have a good munition for catapults and trebuchets. Therefore it should be possible to make them out of cobble or stone.

It's always a pity if you have to gather some things that are not renewable somewhere on the map and thus destroy the landscape there just in order to make it nicer elsewhere. Pebbles are very decorative. Would definitely approve a craft receipe!

Could we add it to the jonez chisel? Like "carving a pebble out of a default:stone" block?

maybe? jonez mod does have an API but it's a bit wonky, i guess i need to look into that.

i wish i could "unmark" this issue as read, i'm gonna forget about this.
