this isn't quite the same as player names. for one, are channel names case insensitive? if not, probably they should be.

For user experience you should be able to set the appearance (letter case) of the Party name or Smartchannel name, but joins, invites, and other commands ought to be case-insensitive. Rename from "example" to "Example" is case-sensitive. Invite or join to "example" should not be case-sensitive.
