this is possible but not trivial, but since the balrogs are my bailiwick, adding it to my todo list.
For yl_statuseffects we'll need a more general approach, there are dot effects planned which also need to have a "sender"
actually this already should be counted? is it really not?
tested, and it seems to be counted. note that the XP you get from damaging a mob is only a fraction of amount of damage you dealt
I do not mean via exp. I mean in considering for mob drops in light of the changes made in #4940. I do not know if the dot works in that case because I do not have the privs or time in the test server to find out.
The primary reason I opened this up was out of concern of the changes made there and the fear that players with balrog whips will not be able to get the drops if using them (they are the best weapon to defeat dragons from my experience).
the source of the damage is indicated as coming from a player, so mob drops will also reflect that.
the original reason why i made sure that was tracked was to make sure the PvP protections were respected.
