Well, most people (except beginners who use various junk until they manage to get something better) use sharp mithril sword, few rich have balrog whip. It would be nice to see more weapon types within group, where people would pick what best suits them their style. we can add mithril spear (spear exists, but not in mithril variant) and then add more variants, like battle axes, two-handed sword that would prohibit using shield, etc ...
such a damage system is planned at some point
There are plans to add weapons that deal one or more types of damage (blunt, slash and pierce) and armours protecting against one or more of those.
