Deleting a branch is permanent. Although the deleted branch may continue to exist for a short time before it actually gets removed, it CANNOT be undone in most cases. Continue?

I think this bug actually extends to all petz: the Stand Still command eventually seems to "wear off", meaning it cannot be used to keep petz in place. This is extremely annoying, and also renders the bird stand functionally useless.
runs considers this intentional - the animals are "alive" and not "automata"...
possibly we could consider this a dupe of #1947
Realism sometimes is not the right solution. If they don't stay where they are ordered to stand, petz can only reside in chests in the long run i'm afraid :-(
I agree. Especially since the AI for some petz (e.g. birds) is awful when they are placed indoors...
my long-term solution is to create an entirely new mob API, and port all existing mobs to use it. i hope to finish that before the end of the calendar year.
