MineWorlds reports a bug:

for some reason, when you have crafting guide on in your inv and then you decide to change it to the crafting grid and at the same time quick-move an item to the crafting grid. the item will be destroyed without any means of getting it back

i can't replicate this. possibly MineWorlds accidentally put the item in a bag or something?

i think by "quick move" he means "shift-click". i find it's easy to accidentally put items in the wrong bag due to lag and shift click.

i'd send a mail asking about it, but mail is currently disabled...

MineWorlds confirmed it was "sneak-click". the lost item was a stack of cobbled, so not major, but i still don't know how to replicate this or if it was just a mistaken impression.
