we already have a couple of creative builders like Annalysa and Arabella
EDIT: and Ineva, StyxColor, and Skyisblue!
Do we? They're not around and to say well this is a survival server, not a creative server - while true - one does wonder where we'd be without the great builds to welcome folks to the server, and everyone knows it.
You (general you not directed at anyone) can say it's not a creative build server all you want - we've benefitted from the nice builds and what do we give back?
I have more of an open mind about this concept and a wait and see how things pan out sort of attitude at least... it's a concept that is not dead to me at this point.
Whether Builder Flight has to be a part of the story around the guilds is not clear to me, as it can also just be a priv, as well as the use of WE:
I would like to know more about the guilds, but the longer we want to discuss and even expand them (everyone has further suggestions and wishes), the more distant they become.
Maybe that's why the guilds should not be introduced in a big upgrade, but with a lot of lore one after the other.
this is certainly a survival server. perhaps an architect class makes sense, that is ill prepared for battle but which gets bonus for building (fall damage protection and eternal builders flight?).
but just to provide a point of comparison, i'll describe the system that was on blocky survival.
blocky survival had "assistant builder", "builder", and "master builder" as staff levels, which applied to an account, and came with certain privileges and restrictions. you couldn't give or build anything for normal players outside of very basic requests (e.g. "turn this volume into air", or "create a giant platform out of cobble which must be supplied by the player requesting the area"), but you could build things to improve the server overall, including fixing up abandoned low-quality player builds in important areas. master builder got basic worldedit (no
//lua
). almost all of the spawn area was either built or fixed up by master builders. assistant builders didn't get creative privs, and had to rely on stockpiles created by builders or master builders. they were useful if someone wanted to volunteer to help you build a wall, or something. some great builders preferred to not have staff accounts.builder status was independent of "moderation" staff - deputy, moderator, admin - which conferred a different sequence of privileges related to controlling player behavior.
