Upon request of Alias, a better description of what happened:
It was a Voice attack at Puerto del Sol and I was currently standing on the wall with Chache as I heard explosion sounds. So I went over to check where those came from. There, I suddenly got damage. First, I thought troops from the ground reached me so I ran back on the wall, where nothing was. But shortly after I got damage there, too, eventhough I didn't see any hostile mobs nor did I hear any. So I jumped from the wall and ran about 20 nodes away, and probably wanted to get some gapples out of my inventory to heal me or something like that, and I get damage again, with nothing around me and no sounds. And with only three hearts left and the suddenness of the events I died, because I wasn't able to run or react clearly in any other way (I was so surprised and irritated, I really couldn't think cleary).
@JeCel that's very common if you're near a lot of mobs when a huge lag-spike happens. it's happened to me more times than i can count. your XP should be refunded, but there's not a lot we can do to prevent this. 1.1.118 should come w/ some updates to mobs_redo that'll reduce such lag spikes during miocene runs.
That's interesting though because I never experienced it the way it happened that day. Usually, when this happenes I do not see any troops at all. But in this case I could see the Fighters (or Elites?) that were coming through the wall, they just had bombed through. That's why I thought it's safe for me to get closer because I thought I could see all the enemies. But apparently I couldn't.
Yes, I know that situation and died from something similar at least once (and pretty recently). Perhaps it hits random players.

May I ask about the status on this one?
xp were returned to JeCel on the grounds that we had issues with too many network packets. This is nothing we can influence though, but the engine must stop sendingtoo many packets.
This can be considered a one-off exception to the rule that we cannot refund when it is not in our power to fix it.
