oh this weird. There were 2 nodes there, I saw it with my own two eyes (no connection issues). But when I dug the dupe, it didn't give me anything.
this is due to client placement prediction and lag. the client doesn't know to decrement your inventory, so until it hears back from the server, you can appear to place as many items as you want during a lagspike. sometimes they don't disappear properly until you leave the area and come back, but if you try to dig it, the server knows there's not actually anything there.
