Laylem reports a bug:

[blueberry] crafting blueberries gives violet dye. Crafting recipe also says it should be blue dye. Why is there both?

One would think it would be blue.

Would one? Eventhough the outside of a blueberry is rather blue, I always thought the inside rather resembles a purple hue. Or does something get blue if you smack a blueberry on it? Not that I know.
In general the color blue is rather rare in nature.

it can be used to impart a bluish to purple-reddish colors depending on mordant. i suppose the point is, it should supply one dye or the other, not both.
