daydream reports a bug:

I propose the barley field gets turned into cotton - who really needs all that barley? is beer that big of a thing? Then the Your Choice could be useful things like rice and flax instead of constantly full of more cotton and the small cotton field could be turned into something different like eggplant

barley can also be turned into flour for bread etc.

The public farm should only provide the basics to get you started (like enough cotton to craft the smallest bag not 4x the biggest) or emergency food.
There is no need to provide every plant available or in big quantities else you could just rename it to "semi-creative farm".

Also if you try to limit in any way what can/should be on the "Your Choice" field it´s no longer the players choice.
