Deleting a branch is permanent. Although the deleted branch may continue to exist for a short time before it actually gets removed, it CANNOT be undone in most cases. Continue?

daydream reports: my werewolf named Werewolf has ...to daydream reports: my black wolf named Werewolf has ...cheeseymac has bones very nearby - IDK if that is a hint or not, so for now I leave them for investigation purposes.
No wolf despawned on that plot, no wolf got killed. At least according to the log.
a lot of petz that were actually zombies (dead but not removed, mostly because their tamagochi life timer expired) disappeared after the last update, i'm not sure whether that'd be logged.

Most liekly due to tamagotchi mode being reenabled. This was not intentional. So: bug, the wolf is refundable.
I refunded the black wolf.
i don't think this was due to tamagochi mode, it was (almost certainly) that some animals were "undead" - they were marked as dead but not removed from the world. see #346 for the primary discussion.
