evil123 reports a bug:

I find it quite annoying that whenever I accidentally right click a random block with my light staff it deals me damage, and it's not even a block that could be turned into glostone or anything, it can be a pumpkin or bones or anything.

The obvious solution is not to click stuff when you don't want to or not wield a clickable item at all. Same goes for anything eatable - if you eat it by accident it's gone.

Unfortunately MT cannot distinguish between accidental and intentional action, I don't know hwo to technically determine a purpose.

after a single use:

This block is protected! Your hit glanced off of the protection and turned you around. The protection deals you 3 damage.

inspecting things, the thresholds weren't changed, this is because the staff-of-light can't be used to "dig" anything, which the protection violation logic interprets as "cheating"...

The game will never be able to tell if a touch in a protected area is intentional or not... if it ever can do that, be afraid. Be very afraid.

created a whitelist for protection violations and added the staff of light.
