default:brick is a complex crafting process compared to default:stonebrick yet it breaks more easily when dug with pickaxe. I would suggest making default:brick durability at least as resistant to digging via pickaxe as is default:stonebrick.

That doesn't mean anything. Clay is easier to mine than stone. Even in real life. It is soft. Also brick(default:brick) is easier to mine than stone brick(default:stonebrick).

There are much more complex recipes, which are all much more easy to break than plain stone.

The complexity of the block should not have anything to do with breakability.
